Serving Good Food From Scratch

Everything from our house-made hot sauce, to our irresistibly crispy home fries is freshly sautéed, glazed, braised, and hollandaised in-house.

We always start with the best ingredients sourced from our incredible community of local providers to serve a meal that will delight you with flavor. The Early Bird Eatery is a husband-wife duo who opened their doors in 2018 with the mission of crafting crave-worthy brunch classics. Chef Mike and business manager Jenn consistently serve guests who are hungry for a fresh take on traditional breakfast cuisine.

The Elder Bread

The bread for our side of toast and some of our sandwiches comes from The Elder Bread, an artisan baker right here in South Bend, Indiana. It’s an LGBT, female owned business that makes bread from scratch, using locally sourced ingredients.

 

Reichert/Phillips Farm

Our farm fresh eggs come from happy chickens at Reichert Phillips Farm in North Liberty, Indiana.

 

Jake’s Country Meats

The hickory smoked ham used in our menu is pasture raised, without the use of antibiotics or nitrates. The Robinson family has been farming for seven generations in Cass County, MI.

 

Artesian Farm

Our fresh greens for our salads and sandwiches are sourced from Artesian Farm, a sustainable, vertical, hydroponic farm in New Buffalo, Michigan.

 

Flagel's Sugar House

Our maple syrup is sourced locally from Flagel’s Sugar House in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Flagel’s Sugar house is run by Darren and Ken Flagel who collect fresh syrup every spring from thousands of taps and reduce the water content down using a labor-intensive process of boiling.

 

Infusco Coffee

Our house coffee, the Early Bird blend is from Infusco Coffee Roasters, a pure, single-origin coffee, slow roasted in Sawyer, MI. Slow roasting provides a richer tasting coffee. Coffee is delivered weekly at the peak of its flavor.

 

Violet Sky Chocolate

The chocolate for our mochas and hot chocolates is produced by Violet Sky Chocolate, a hand crafted, bean-to-bar chocolate operation located across the river from us in South Bend.

 

Uncommon Coffee Roasters

Our cold brew coffee is roasted and brewed by Uncommon Coffee Roasters in Saugatuck, Michigan. Started as Uncommon Grounds in Saugatuck in 1994, it’s an NGLCC Certified LGBT Business Enterprise.
